Mohammad Shazzadul Karim

Chief Executive Officer (in-charge)

Mr. M Shazzadul Karim is a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) from Life Office Management Association (USA) and holds two Masters Degrees (Masters in Accounting and MBA with major in Management) from University of Dhaka. Mr. Shazzad started his career in ALICO Bangladesh.

Prior to joining at Akij Takaful Life Insurance PLC, he served as Chief Executive Officer (CC) at Sunlife Insurance Company Limited, Deputy Managing Director at Pragati Life Insurance Limited and Guardian Life Insurance Limited. Mr. Shazzad was the Project Coordinator of an Asian Development Project titled “Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project” implemented by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). He was the Project Director of the “Micro Initiative with Mutual Enabling” a project on Microinsurance funded by Oxfam Novib and implemented by INAFI Bangladesh.

Mr. Shazzad joined ALICO Bangladesh in 1998 and worked till 2007. Later he joined International Network of Financial Institutions (INAFI) Bangladesh as Project Director of “Micro Initiatives with Mutual Enabling (MIME) Project” funded by Oxfam Novib for introducing Microinsurance products suited for the micro borrowers between 2007 and 2010. He then joined Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) in 2010 as Project Coordinator of “Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project (DIISP)”, a project of Asian Development Bank (ADB) financed by Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) and worked till 2014.

Mr. Shazzad joined Guardian Life Insurance Limited as SEVP and Chief Operating Officer in 2014 and was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2019 and worked till 2020. He joined Pragati Life Insurance Limited as Deputy Managing Director, Operations in 2021 and worked till April, 2024. He then held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CC) at Sunlife Insurance Company Limited for a short period of time.

He attended various training programs at home and abroad on Insurance and Management. He visited a number of countries of the world.

Mr. Shazzad is a Life Member of Dhaka University Alumni Association and Dhaka University Accounting Alumni and a General Member of Club Notredamians, Bangladesh.

Mohammad Masuduzzaman Khan

Masuduzzaman Khan holds B.Sc. (Hons.) & M.Sc. in Physics and M.Sc. in Actuarial Science. He also completed the qualification of Cert CII from CII (UK) and pursued ACII (UK). Mr. Masud is a high-energy leader experienced in multi-unit regions of Life Insurance. Excel in Life Insurance business, product and process improvement and driving operational excellence. He has 22 years of hands-on working experience in Underwriting, Reinsurance, Customer Service, Claims Management, Product Development, Training, Group & Corporate Insurance departments in several Leading Life Insurance Companies in Bangladesh and Abroad. He worked in a leading position at Takaful Insurance of Africa, Kenya which is one of the market leaders of East Africa. He is a member of insurance professional organizations of CII (UK), MII (Malaysia) and ALU (Academy of Life Underwriter, USA).
